2776 6. 6 6. 8 8
THE happy morn is come;
   Triumphant o’er the grave,
The Saviour leaves the tomb,
    Omnipotent to save:

Captivity is captive led,
For Jesus liveth, Who was dead.

2  Who now accuses them
    For whom their Surety died?
Who shall their souls condemn
    Whom God has justified?

3  Christ has the ransom paid;
    The glorious work is done;
On Him our help is laid—
    By Him our victory won.

4  To God the Father, Son,
    And Spirit of all grace,
Eternal Three in One,
    Be everlasting praise.

Thomas Haweis, 1732-1820
